Updates!! They are LONG overdue, and I apologize for not keeping you guys in the loop- it has been a busy, few months and I am happy to say that this thing is REALLY HAPPENING!!!
Between the saga of locating (and securing) the site, finding suppliers, talking to people in town, sourcing equipment, and recipe testing, there has hardly been any room to breathe. Here is an actual picture that I found of my life so far, and I’m not even open yet:
First Things First: The Space
I am going to be located on 320 East State Street, Ithaca, NY. It is right off of the commons and a one minute walk from the locally dubbed “Restaurant Row.” It is truly a prime spot, and I just know that I had one of those gut feelings about it when I first saw it sitting empty.
I finally signed the lease in early June, and I couldn’t be more excited to have a wonderful landlord on my side. It seems almost every restauranteur has a nasty story about their signing process, and I truly “lucked out.”

Stop! It’s Hammer Time
As you can see, the site needs a little love before we open our doors. The ceiling is coming down, the floors and walls are being redone, and (my personal favorite) we are building out a kitchen. Luckily, my Cornell degree has prepared me for a lot of this, and that (coupled with intense research) makes it possible for me to hold my own in the various professional meetings required to get the ball rolling.
We are currently in the final planning stages, and the start button will be pressed very soon! Brown paper shields the windows of the space, and the next time they come down, it will be a completely new spot. I can’t wait to share it with you…

In the meantime, I have been busy updating the website and kickstarting my brand (more on that later!). I have included a tentative menu below, but I have to warn you that it will probably look a little different once we are open:
The mission stands to support the local community and to help people nourish their bodies in the most delicious way possible.
You’ll notice that I now have the official website linked to this post, as well as the Instagram and Facebook pages. Feel free to check those out, and don’t forget to follow this blog for more updates on the restaurant. As of now, we are looking to open this fall!
